This week’s spotlight belongs to the legend of UCSF 10th floor …… also known to us as Lil’ John! John is named after both his dad and granddad! Who too were legends in their own right. John has overcome much adversity in his young life. Within the past year he underwent a heart transplant. During his time in the hospital he not only recovered but sought to help other patients through their hard times as well. With his funny personality and encouraging smile he brought joy to many patients and nurses alike. John continues to keep a positive attitude as he undergoes dialysis and the wait for a new kidney. Outside of hanging out with the “vampires” at dialysis he enjoys playing Mafia Wars and watching TV. He also enjoys fishing and looks forward to taking his mom and dropping a line soon! John is pondering returning to school and is hoping to focus on the medical field. He will no doubt be a great caregiver! His favorite songs include “I Kissed a Girl” and “Unchained Melody.” His favorite quote is “Life is like a box of chocolates …. You never know what your gonna get." Isn't that so true! While I have never heard it ..... Chad tells me that John has a beautiful singing voice. One of Chad's favorite memories of John is when he sang "Blueberry Hill" for their grandparents 50th wedding anniversary. Maybe when Chad and I hit our 50th anniversary John will sing for us!!
