Spotlight Saturday

This week’s spotlight belongs to the Miller Family – Sam, Karen, Ethan, Hannah, Reed & Claire! This family is amazing! They love spending time with each from playing card games and scrabble to outside activities such as swimming, basketball and soccer - they pretty much do it all! Sam can usually be found as the coach and Karen is not far behind wheeling snacks, personalized sport bags and soccer banners! Their most embarrassing “family” moment was when Sam lost the car keys. Did I mention they had just gotten off a flight from Texas and it was rather cold in Missouri at that particular time? They spent just about “forever” in a small glass house awaiting GranDaddy Miller and the spare key! They watched a movie, played cards and every five minutes had to flick the light and overhead heater on! While they awaited the spare key – they waved each time as the shuttle passed. They became a part of the parking lot tour I suppose you could say! This family is filled with joy and is always happy no matter the situation. I have always admired that about my sister and Sam and now I can see their happiness and values being passed down to the next generation.

A few things you may or may not know about the Miller’s:
1. They live next to the town mortuary.

2. There best friends are also their relatives and they live next door to each other – you guessed it the town mortician and his family!

3. “Betsy Bingo” is one of their all time favorite past times.

4. Their basement had an inch of poo in it before they noticed something was wrong.

5. They own their own business – Sassy Rags! Check it out at http://sassyrags.net/.

6. Karen is starting a garden on her kitchen table – with the hopes of transplanting and having something actually produce!

7. Hannah is on the student council - Ethan can often be found with a book in his hands - Reed loves to takes pictures and Claire is sitting up and all smiles!

8. Karen is a member of the New Horizon Women’s Group and sits on the parks and recreation board. Sam is a member of the Optimist Club and plays poker with Karen’s gyno docter – I can only imagine the jokes that were had in that delivery room when Claire was born!

9. Their Bishop delivered Reed. Imagine sitting in the church pew after that one.

10. They love their life in small town RockPort!

Thanks for letting us spotlight you Miller’s! We love you and cannot wait to see you in April!

I love it - Thankyou for spotlighting us!! Oh the fun times we had ... the fishing trip, playing in the yard while we lived next door to each other, the fun times at the Bader Road house. We have all come a long way from those days - but they sure were fun!!!
