Quite Day Out On The Farm

With the crew at school and Chad taking a well deserved "Daddy" free day JohnMichael and I headed to the farm. We spent the better part of the day preparing sweet corn and put up just about 15 jars of applesauce. This year was supposed to be a "light" year for apples but it has turned out to be alot more then expected. In addition to the applesauce I brought home a bushel to peel and slice for apple pies. The sweet corn is absolutely tasty!! We brought home a ton of that as well and the kids have had fun shucking and eating the cobs! For fear of them stabbing each other I never gave them the cob holders but this year I thought why not -- so far so good.

Here are a few photos of our day! The sunflowers were from a small package that my mom sent and they have totally rocketed. I am not sure the photos will do them justice -- they are absolutely huge and beautiful! The raspberries have just started and they are mighty tasty straight out of the patch!
