Pumpkin Carving!

The kids had a blast this weekend carving pumpkins! We invited Grandma Sam out and we had hot cider and cupcakes! The kids hollowed out their pumpkins -- Luke thought it was so gross to touch the inside goop but with some nuding he did it! We got this trusty kit that had carving tools and patterns. They thought it was rather neat to pick their own patterns! Is is tradition that Chad "helps" (okay does) the smaller kids pumpkins! So yep you guessed it he carved four pumpkins! I did lend a hand and "helped" Ruby. Next year Chad has decided to use power tools! Zach carved his own and did a mighty fine job at that! Honestly, James and Luke could have done their own as well but they were smart enough to let Chad do the carving! To much time away from playing! By the end of the day the kids were tuckered out and we had some down time just relaxing at home. Grandma Sam made Zach a board game -- I believe it is like chinese checkers but with golf tees opposed to marbles - YEAH on that! One less thing to put in the mouth and swallow. They played that the better part of the night and were up and going yesterday which was good becasue I put them to work with chores. Needless to say they were ready to get back to school today!
