John welcomed the crowd with a character filled smile and a huge thumbs up with an energetic "Welcome, Glad you are here!"
The "peas" also recited an endearing poem:
An Angel came to earth one night
The sky was bright a lovely sight
The Shepard knelt in awe and fright
When the Christ our Lord was born tonight
The kids sang the first verses to Away In A Manger and Silent Night. They had practiced so hard and as a mother I was proud because I knew they were singing to and for the Lord.
Pastor Alan read the Christmas story while the choir did a beautiful job singing the story in song. They too did a wonderful job and the presence of the Lord could be felt throughout our small little church.
We were extremely blessed to have taken part in the night and to have had Grandma Sam, Grandma Linda and Mommy Erin joining us.
