A busy start to July!!!

This last week has been enormously busy! We welcomed Grandpa and Grandma Butter to Iowa along with treasured friends Deb and Mike! Here are a few snipits of what we did .......

Tuesday the 30th we were bustn' at the seams waiting for the arrival of Grandpa and Grandma Butter!! After getting lost a "few" times the finally arrived! This was their first time visiting Iowa and also the first time meeting Luke and Daniel.

After getting a good nights rest ...... we gave them a tour of our town and surronding areas. We officially initiated the Butter's as Grandparents with a vist to Chuck E. Cheese!!!

Thursday .... we divided and concoured! Chad took three kids to the movies and I took three along with the Butter's to visit Nasuha. We saw the Little Brown Church, The Bradford Musuem and finally ended with a picnic along the Cedar River.

After we all reunited at home we had a water fight, shucked some corn and ate a wonderful roast supper!

In between the clouds and sprinkles on Friday we worked outside preparing the yard for the much anticipated 4th of July bar-b-que. Thanks to Grandpa and Grandma Butter for keeping the wee ones busy!

Saturday we celebrated the 4th of July with our annual city parade and fireworks display! We are fortunate that we can see the display from our yard!! We welcomed friends and family for a wonderful bar-b-que and celebration!!! Each year it grows and this year we were up to 32!!!!

Suday the activities contined with a Flag Burning Ceremony and Church Service in the Park. The J's, myself and the Butter's had the day to spend together while the others ventured of with Daddy to Farm and Fleet. "My Crew" spent most of the day at the park and then we headed out to F'Burg and the farm. I was very honored to introduce Charlie and Margie to Art and Lorraine. Charlie and Margie knew my grandfather and it meant more than I can express in words for them to have had the opportunity to visit the family farm and meet Art and Lorraine.

Moday we were very greatful to Grandma Sam for coming down at the last minute to watch some of the kids. This enabled Chad and I to take the Butter's on a tour of Amish Country. Thanks Grandma Sam!

Tuesday it rained! So we all loaded up for a fun filled day at the Phelp's Children Musuem .... I think even Daddy had fun!

Wednesday we headed south to Des Moines and had a fun and rather entertaining day at Blank Zoo! Daddy had to work and poor Grandpa and Grandma were tucked out by the end of the day!!!!! We had intended to extend our trip and include a sight seeing trip to the Freedom Rock ..... I am not so sure which Grandpa and Grandma ran out of energy or patience ...... needless to say we headed home and straight to bed!

Thursday we prepared ourselves for our last full day together. We had lunch at a local restaurant played a bit at the arcade and thankfully the weather turned so we could enjoy an hour or two at the park.

This morning amist a thunderstorm we had to say goodbye! We are so very thankful for Grandpa and Grandma Butter's visit. We wish we would have had more than the 4th with Mike and Deb ..... but it is not the length of the visit but quality of time spent! We hope all our visitors had as much fun as we did and hope you travels home were safe. We love you!
